My baby has been sick with a high fever since yesterday afternoon, my husband and older two have been spending every spare moment remodeling our apartment so my sister-in-law's mother can move in on Saturday, and my father-in-law was admitted to the hospital for pain management for his cancer yesterday (please pray for Papa). Honestly, life could have continued on as usual today with school in the morning, housework and projects in the afternoon and even something extra accomplished while I stayed home from church tonight with my sickies. But, no, I crashed.
I encouraged chores, but didn't inspect them. I suggested school work, but never went back to look over their work. I did wash five loads of laundry (in my newly-fixed washer - hurray) and fold two of them. I did change the sheets on our bed. I did supervise my children while they played. I did take a nap while baby napped. I did clean out one cupboard (and throw away half a garbage bag full of outdated medicine and vitamins (oh, let me not count the cost, rather let me be thankful we didn't need them). I did administer medicine and apply healing essential oils and rub backs and hold babies. I did work up a new blog banner with Caleb on my lap. (Like it? I think it's my favorite one yet.) And I did check my email and blog comments so many times today that there was no time in between for anyone to update and I had to ask myself if I were the only one here who doesn't have a life today?!
Thank God for tomorrow.
So, do you see anything wrong with this picture?

Or this one?

Maybe this will help...

Do you think our poor half-grown kitten is having an identity crisis? I'm not sure if he thinks he is still the baby... or if maybe he is the mother of these little creatures that he licks and warms... or possibly he is just in a hurry for them to grow up so he can play?
And sometimes I wonder if he considers himself just a wee bit human...

Nina was burning up with a fever and Tommy was offering a bit of comfort.
Isn't he a dear?
Have a great night, everyone!
I'm off to bed. Here's
Love,

19 comments...Thank you! I love to hear from you!:
I don't mean to be indelicate but you really should get the older male kitten fixed-They can and will start interbreeding.
Anonymous - Tommy is only four months, not quite old enough to be spayed yet.
They are all darling though:)I hope every one gets to feeling better!
Awwww!!! finally kitty pictures! Do i see one that looks kinda like my peanut? the last picture of tommy makes him look really big!
Yes I love the new banner. How did you do that? Will you share :-)
It seems that in the bloggy world the sickness is spreading. Thankfully the fever passes and the kids jump up and are bouncing all over again. Even us Mamas :-)
Hope everyone is feeling better soon.
"Lord please bless their Papa, that his pain will pass, be managed and you will be his comfort and peace. In Jesus name, Amen~"

Amy - the new banner is lovely and very creative!
I will be praying for your "Papa" tonight - this must be very hard for your family!
I hope everyone is feeling better at your house soon. I understand how you feel when kids are sick - my days are turned upside down and I wish I could talk to SOMEBODY, but everyone else seems busy and productive.
I love your new banner....and I'm sending prayers for Papa and for your sick babies! I hope everyone is feeling better very soon! {hugs}
love love love your new banner! your blog is like a cup of hot chai tea on a cold morning :) thanks for sharing!
Praying for Papa. May he be granted peace and may they manage his pain.
I love the new banner. Very creative :)
Sometimes the most important tasks in the day are caring for the sickies and making yourself available to them - so your day was not a total write off - just being the mommy nurse.
Tommy looks like he takes the role of older brother very seriously. very cute.

Your banner looks great. We can't get too much of your pictures. If you have time, could you explain how to do that?
Praying that everyone will be feeling better soon and that your Papa will get relief from his pain.
Oops! I meant neutered, not spayed. It was late last night. ;)
As for the "how to," I wouldn't know where to begin. I use Photoshop Elements 4.0 and with each PS program, the instructions vary somewhat. Basically, I chose some of my favorite photos, trying to choose a balance that represent me (narrowing it down is the hardest part), then rearranged a million times, resizing as I went and adding and subtracting pictures until it looked right. I added a textured square, typed in my blog title, added a light vignette around the whole thing and resized it to a lower resolution and a width of 1000 pixels. Very technical, right? I could explain the tecnicalities, I suppose, if I could walk you through it in my own living room, but I'm sure you could find a better tutorial online already somewhere.
Thanks for all the compliments and especially the prayers.
did your cat have another batch of kittens?! I don't remember reading about it before. THey are so adorable....
love how he is comforting nina! love the blog banner!

Great banner! Looks like Tommy just can't stand to be left out of the cuddling involved there!
Sorry to hear about Papa. Will pray.
Praying for papa and your sick kiddos. Fever is running high here too! My Kaylee has had one off and on for a week now and now I have it! Five weeks til baby day and I am privileged to once again hold a newborn baby in my arms that God miraculously gave us! Praying for you!
Bethany gave me the run down last night on who was and wasn't sick.(I asked.)
I think Tommy is regressing like older siblings sometime do.
Hope everyone recovers soon!!!
How long have these guys been sick now? I cant remember when it started but it seems like it's been a while. Poor Nina gets hit every time, doesn't she? I will add them to my prayers for a fast recovery. The list is too long lately.
I do love your new banner.
Love, love, love the new banner! So creative....Praying everyone is feeling better. I have been right where you are with your father-in-law right now. Praying he will be able to feel better and get some rest.

I love reading your blog. I have children under the age of 4, and I look for ward everyday when I have a few minutes to sit down and read your blog.

What a sweet post...and we all have those days...more often than not:):) It seems I'm always dealing with the childrens needs...one thing or another! Motherhood is quite diverse.....at least you were there and being a mother so don't feel guilty!!:)
